Round 8 - Upto 750 class

Round Eight and final round of this years Championship took place at the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben Germany. This also been the penultimate round of this years World Sidecar Championship.

Well the upto 750 championship came down to these final two races to decide who became champions of not just the upto 750 championship but the overall championship. It did not let us down with Marvin and Troy taking it easy in practice by only putting serval fast laps and stopping during practice to save his engine and Robert and Marja bringing a spare bike with them just in case of ant issues. So on to race 1 with Marvin and Troy top of the 750 qualifiers on the front row Robert and Marja only qualified on row 4. As the race got underway Robert spun it coming out of the right coming on to the back straight so dropping them down the field and as the race continued Robert and Marja fought there way back up to 5th with Marvin and Troy finishing 2 behind Kia Fisher and Wolfgang Helms so the title would not decided till race 2. It was all or bust in Race 2 and Marvin and Troy took the lead and never looked back with Keith and Allun taking second pushing Robert and Marja down to third on the road.

Special note these were Keith Walters final races of his career and what a a 50 year career he has had finishing with a third and second .

Sidecar Festival - Motorsport Arena Oschersleben

Round 8 - Over 750 class

Round Eight and final round of this years Championship took place at the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben Germany. This also been the penultimate round of this years World Sidecar Championship.

As the over 750 championship had already been clinched by Zita and Guido at Schleiz and Seppe and Kobe claiming second, it was down to who would finish third in the championship between Ray / Yens and Andy / Michel with only 15 points separating the two teams. Race 1 Zita and Guido chain broke on the line as the race got under way with Andy / Michel beating Seppe and Kobe into the first corner and Ray settling into third the race was on but luck was not on Andy’s side and they stopped on lap 5 leaving Ray to finish second behind Seppe so getting enough points to clinch third in the championship. Race 2 It was back to normal service with Seppe and Guido battling it out for the honours and Seppe clinching it. With Andy coming in third and Ray not starting due to engine trouble. A great time was had by all.

The Sidecar Festival - Motorsport Arena Oschersleben Germany.

The final round of this years season takes place on the 5 weeks (5th 6th 0cotber) time at the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben as part the German sidecar Festival .

There is still plenty to race for in upto 750 classes. With Zita and Guido Reichmuth taking the over 750cc second year, As for the upto 750 class it is dead level at the top between current champion Marvin Vermeulen and his new passenger Troy Klinker and Robert Schoonderbeek and his passenger Marja van den Bor in second, third place looks to be heading to Gabrielle Arends and Jan Beens. As for the Overall Championship this is between Marvin / Troy and Marja / Robert with Zita and Guido having an outside chance of catching them.

VFV Klassik GP Schleizer Dreieck

Round 7 - Upto 750 class

Round Seven of this years Championship took place on the oldest road circuit in Germany at Schleiz. With temperatures well in to the high 20’s all weekend it was very challenging for the teams as well as the bikes.

In the championship the two leading teams were level on points following Round 6 at Gedinne so it was going to make it an interesting weekend to see if one team could break the deadlock with only the final meeting at Oschersleben to come in early October.

So with Race 1 at 8am on Sunday morning it was Marvin and Troy who took the honours but Race 2 mid afternoon and the heat of the day at its highest, it was Robert and Marja who took the honours with Marvin and Troy having problems at the final chicane and pushing the bike all the way to the finish line to claim second place by the tiniest of margins over Jan and Gabrielle in third place.

So with it been still level at the top of the championship its all down to the final round of the season at Oschersleben in Germany the first weekend in October for a winner takes all showdown as the winners will be likely be crown Camathias Cup champions as well.

VFV Klassik GP Schleizer Dreieck

Round 7 - Over 750 class

Round Seven of this years Championship took place on the oldest road circuit in Germany at Schleiz. With temperatures well in to the high 20’s all weekend it was very challenging for the teams as well as the bikes.

In the championship the two leading teams were separated by 47 points following Round 6 at Gedinne, This giving Seppe and Kobe and an outside chance of catching Zita and Guido barring any mechanical issues. Race 1 the teams were separated by 7 second’s with Zita and Guido taking the honours, With this been Seppe and Kobe first visit to Schleiz it was going to be interesting if they could catch Zita and Guido in the race 2. But luck was not on their side as they got a puncture on lap 4 so ending their championship chances for 2024. As for third spot in the championship it is still between Ray Reeves and Andy / Michiel with only 15 points separating the two teams with Andy / Michiel having a DNF in the first race and beating Ray in Race 2 it is all down to the final round at Oschersleben to come in early October to finalise the top 3 in this years over 750 championship.
